| The Silver Screen's Glorious Days |
January 3-10, 2010 |
| Rally Masters: Mandy and Violet Canales |
Riverside County Fairgrounds, Indio, CA |
This yearly event is another inexpensive Beaver Rally that is full of fun activities, good food and fellowship. The Indio Volunteer Rally each January, lets Beavers get togther with friends and provide a service to FMCA. Without such volunteers, the FMCA rally fees would have to be considerably higher. For just a short amount of duty time, participants are rewarded with great hors d'oeurvres, nightly campfires and all the fun of the FMCA rally. Of course, the highlight of the rally has come to be the lobster boil. Thanks to the efforts of Mark Carneal and Margret Hill, who arrange for the lobsters and then expertly prepare them, and all the potluck chefs, a delightful gourmet meal is prepared and served at the beautiful Outdoor Resorts Clubhouse. Lamar again provide music for dancing and singing. Check out the pictures. |
| Christmas on the Waterfront |
December 7-11, 2009 |
| Rally Masters: Bill and Karen Maloof |
Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Park |
First time rally masters Bill and Kaen Maloof, put on a great Christmas rally with a variety of fun activities. From Segway tours of the back bay to a gourmet Mexican dinner right on the harbor. Another highlight was a self guided tour of Newport Harbor on electric Duffy boats. Ten people per boat had a great lunch and then proceded to try and find local points of interest in a bay-wide scavenger hunt. Another highlight was a catered Christmas dinner at the Bayside Room overlooking the bay filled with lighted Christmas trees. A fantastic variety of door prizes sent everyone home a winner. The rally charity was the EMT division of the Newport Fire Department. The paramedics showed up in their fire truck to collect the donated teddy bears to be used to help calm the children they are called upon to transport in an emergency. Check out the fun. |
| Beavers in the Wine Country |
May 17 - 21, 2009 |
| Rally Masters: Brian and Sharon Herndon |
Napa County Fairgrounds - Calistoga, California |
Brian and Sharon Herndon's first rally was a wine lovers paradise. Tours and tastings at some of the most beautiful wineries of the Napa Valley kept everyone entertained and very happy. If that wasn't enough, the rally book gave some history and highlights of the area and participants had time to explore on their own. An optional tour of the Sharpsteen Museum gave even more insight into the region. Meals varied from heavy appetizers, lunch at the Petrified Forest, a meal at the campground prepared by a special guest chef, dinner at Mountain Home Ranch, and a great lasagna dinner sponsored by our friends at Beaver Coach Sales of Oregon.Check out the pictures of this great rally in a beautiful part of California. |
| Myth of the Pyramids |
January 4 - 10, 2009 |
| Rally Masters: Mandy and Violet Canales |
Riverside County Fairgrounds, Indio, CA |
How can such an inexpensive rally turn out to be such fun year after year! For a very small fee and a few hours of security duty, which generally consists of just watching for badges, participants are rewarded with social hours serving bountiful hors d'oeuvres from Beaver's favorite recipes, nightly campfires (for those who don't want to enjoy the FMCA entertainment), the volunteer dinner, and - for a pittance more - the best lobster dinner you could ask for. Of course there is plenty of time to enjoy all of the ammenities of the INTO FMCA Rally also. Next year's Indio volunteer rally is already in the works, so check out the pictures of the fun and sign up in Beaver Tales. |
